PS Vita’s Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified gameplay revealed

The long-awaited gameplay trailer for the PlayStation Vita's Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified made its debut today at the Sony press conference at Gamescom.

My initial reaction is that it looks pretty similar to the console versions. The trailer didn't show much, just your standard Call of Duty gameplay. Single player missions are set in between the events of Black Ops and Black Ops 2, which will release for consoles, and are played out as individual "covert" missions. Although the gameplay looked anything but covert. The variety of weapons and gadgets at your disposal will leverage the Vita's touch screen technology, including near features.

As for multiplayer, both Sony and the trailer confirmed four vs four over wi-fi. Team Death Match, Kill Confirmed, and a variety of maps built from the ground up specifically for the PS Vita will be available. One multiplayer mode that wasn't revealed in the trailer or mentioned at the conference was some sort of multiplayer zombie mode.

Activision's Dan Amrich couldn't say if it would be part of the Vita experience, but the Declassified producer Neven Dravinski did confirm there will be other modes.

Developed by the team at Nihilistic Software, here is the Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified gameplay.

At the same conference Sony confirmed a limited edition bundle will be sold alongside the launch of Declassified. This bundle will include a limited edition WiFi Vita with a customized back panel, the Call of Duty game, and a special Call of Duty carrying case pouch.
