PS4.5 “Neo” rumored to release this year

Recently, Sony confirmed the existence of the next iteration of the PlayStation 4 console, codenamed Neo. It was about time the company finally commented on the console, there were tons of leaks and rumors circling the web for months.

A new report is suggesting that the Neo will be releasing sometime this year, something that has been speculated before. According to Eurogamer's Richard Leadbetter (via GameSpot), "several sources have indicated" that the Neo will release before the end of 2016.

Previous rumors have placed the Neo's launch in October of this year, making it available before Sony releases their PSVR kits. Releasing the upcoming console prior to the PSVR makes sense, the Neo will offer better graphics and more stable framerates, making it something of a necessity for utilizing PSVR at its maximum potential.

Until Sony officially reveals the Neo's release date, we won't know what Sony has planned for the console. Hopefully they reveal it soon.
