PS4 feature forces Destiny: The Taken King down your throat

PlayStation 4 owners were a bit surprised yesterday when they turned on their consoles to find Destiny: The Taken King on their system dashboard, even if they hadn't actually purchased the game. As noted by Polygon, it's part of the PS4's "personalized, curated content" — a feature which pushes games to your console via the automatic download settings based on your purchase and download history.

As described on PlayStation's official website:

The PS4™ system has the ability to learn about your preferences. It will learn your likes and dislikes, allowing you to discover content pre-loaded and ready to go on your console in your favorite game genres or by your favorite creators. Players also can look over game-related information shared by friends, view friends’ gameplay with ease, or obtain information about recommended content, including games, TV shows and movies.

The good news is you can opt out of this feature. From your PS4 home screen, head to Settings > scroll down to System > select Automatic Downloads > uncheck Featured Content.

That being said, Destiny: The Taken King is a great game and it's actually not a bad suggestion on PlayStation's part. Still, gamers, understandbly, are a bit finnicky about this sort of intrusive behavior.
