In case you haven't gotten home to turn on your PS4's yet today, Sony has just rolled out a brand new Firmware update, Version 3.55 that does….pretty much what you would expect. According to the company's official Reddit Thread, the new update has only one function, it "improves the quality of the system performance." Frankly, it doesn't get more basic than that.
The file is relatively small at just under 300 MBs, and with a solid connection, I found it didn't take more than five minutes to download and install. You can check out the official details on the Reddit page here, but if you're lazy, you can download the update here and you can find the instructions on how to do everything here.
