Life is Strange Episode 5 – October 20
The conclusion to Dontnod's emotionally driven tale of time traveling Max Caulfield is almost upon us. Those who have been enjoying the episodes up until now know just how crazy the story gets, and the conclusion will hopefully be just as mind blowing.
Tales of Zestiria – October 20
Does a JRPG with gorgeous anime visuals sound like a game you'd enjoy? Perhaps knowing that you'll take part in going against an evil force known as Malevolence and going on an epic journey with a diverse cast of characters might sway your mind?
Assassin's Creed Syndicate – October 23
I guess a majority of you wanted an Assassin's Creed set in a slightly more modern era, and Ubisoft seemingly delivered. Syndicate takes place during the industrial revolution with two sibling protagonists, Jacob and Evie, and their fight to liberate London from Templar control.
WWE 2K16 – October 27
Well, I can't say that I was ever a fan of wrestling, but considering these games get a yearly release, the fan base must actually exist. What else is there to say, except that there are over 120 unique wrestlers, which sounds pretty awesome. Also, if you pre-order, you get to play as Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator. Awesome!
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition – October 27
This one nearly gave us the slip (thanks Jbumi!). Divinity: Original Sin was already quite the amazing game when it first launched. Enhanced Edition not only brings the previously PC-only game to the PS4, it also hosts numerous additions, features and tweaks to make it a much better experience.
There's also local co-op for you and a buddy, allowing you to explore and complete quests together, or even split apart and do your own thing.
Other games coming to PS4:
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition – October 13
Wasteland 2: Director's Cut – October 13
Overlord: Fellowship of Evil – October 20
Just Dance 2016 – October 23
Earthlock: Festival of Magic – TBA
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection – October 9
Uncharter 4: A Thieve's End is one of the most anticipated games of 2016. What better way to prep yourself for the next Nathan Drake game than by reliving his three original adventures on the PS3.
Remastered for the PS4, the games will boast a crisp 1080p resolution with 60fps, which is easily one of the major selling points a game could have these days.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below – October 13
Do you like Dragon Quest? How about Dynasty Warriors? If you said "Yes!" to both, then get excited for the latest Warriors crossover, featuring a really long subtitle for the game, that rhymes.
You'll take on hordes of iconic Dragon Quest enemies in an all out battle across big environments.
Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1 – October 13
If you're previously stayed away from Minecraft due to its lack of story, then the new game from Telltale should be on your radar. Story Mode will be an episodic game that takes place in the world of Minecraft, full with talking characters, locations to explore, and items to craft.
Guitar Hero Live – October 20
Don't want the full band experience? Guitar Hero Live might be the music game of choice then. Guitar Hero goes back to its roots and focuses on guitar-only gameplay, with a new button layout, which is sure to give even veterans some getting used to.
The big selling point is that you'll be playing for a live crowd that will react to how you're playing. Don't want to be boo'd off stage now do you.
Things are starting to ramp up as we near the final stretch of 2015. October is already a game-filled month with heavy hitters like the Uncharted Collection which is going to prepare us for Uncharted 4 coming next year, to the resurgence of music games with both Rock Band 4 and Guitar Hero Live, as well as some JRPG goodness in the form of Tales of Zestiria.
Let's take a look at the laundry list of games coming out.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance – October 6
If you're a fan of NIS' extremely kooky tactics RPG franchise, Disgaea, then the fifth core entry (though it's the sixth game in the franchise) is sure to be high on your list of games to get in October.
You'll lead Killia and an army of rebels to put an end to a terrible Overlord name Void Dark. Of course it wouldn't be Disgaea without over-the-top action and humor to even make the grinch grin.
Rock Band 4 – October 6
Build the best cover band known to man with Rock Band 4 with an all new set-list, all new instruments, but support for classic DLC and instruments as well.
Is this the resurgence of music games? We'll have to see.
Transformers: Devastation – October 6
PlatinumGames is behind the latest Transformers game, bringing their trademark high-octane combat across five playable characters in an all new storyline written by comic book writer Andy Schmidt.
