Sony is giving PlayStation 4 owners a chance to play the online multiplayer portion of games they already own, regardless of whether or not you have a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Starting Friday, September 26 at 12:01am Pacific through Sunday, September 28 at 11:59pm Pacific, online multiplayer will be opened up for PS4 owners, giving owners of recent games like Madden NFL 15, Killzone: Shadow Fall, FIFA 15, and Diablo 3 a chance to try out the multiplayer component. Of course, you'll have to first own the game; all this weekend does is unlock the online portion if you aren't already a PS Plus member.
Unlike its predecessor, the PS4 requires that owners have a PS Plus membership to play games online. Of course, there are other perks to being a PS Plus member, like discounts and free games each month. So if you aren't already a PS Plus member, join the rest of the gaming community online this weekend for a free trial.
