Pre-loading pre-ordered content on your PlayStation 4 so that you may play it the moment the game releases won't arrive until September with the release of Destiny. Though the feature was thought to arrive sooner with maybe Watch Dogs or Wolfenstein: The New Order, the PlayStation support page offers some new information.
"Beginning with Destiny, certain pre-ordered titles can be automatically be pre-loaded prior to their release," Sony support says. "This lets you rest easy knowing that your game will be ready for play the second its release date hits."
Sony notes that not every title will support pre-load functionality and that pre-loading doesn't grant early access to the game. "It simply loads it several days prior to its release so you're able to play it on its release date." Automatic downloads must also be enabled on your PS4 to pre-load games.
