Sony has released a new system software update (version 1.51) for PlayStation 4, which is now available for download.
The mandatory update contains some minor changes including improved stability of system software and "minor refinements" to elements of the system UI. Now the PS4 should clearly indicate when you download a game and a game patch at the same time.
The patch is just over 300MB, but doesn't take long at all to download. In North America, automatic downloads for system and game updates are enabled by default when the PS4 is in stand-by-mode, so assuming you keep yours in that mode it should download quickly and easily. Like the 1.50 update, you can also opt to download this update via your PC and install it manually.
At launch, PS4 owners needed to download system software update version 1.50 in order to enable a few of the console's features including Remote Play with the Vita and gameplay sharing functionality (via the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller).
