As expected, PlayStation 4 system update 1.60 was released last night in the United States. I hopped on the PS4 and downloaded the seemingly quick update which brings support for the PULSE and PULSE — Elite Edition wireless stereo headsets among other stability improvements for the system.
Some brief notes listed on the PS4 also indicated that "Picture quality during DVD playback has been improved." PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen also said the update brings the ability to mute the PlayStation camera, though this feature wasn't listed in the notes.
Europe can expect the update to arrive some time today.
On a side note, Sony also yesterday revealed a new Gold Wireless Headset, which features 7.1 virtual surround sound and a noise-cancelling internal microphone. The headset can be used at home using the USB wireless adaptor with your PS4, PS3, PC, or Mac for up to 8 hours (with a rechargeable battery). You can also use the headset with your PS Vita or other mobile device with the included 3.5mm stereo mini jack.
