PS4 system update 1.62 released; here’s what it does

Sony has released a system software update (version 1.62) for the PlayStation 4. The update notes are rather vague at the moment, but here's what Sony is calling the main feature in the update:

Operation quality during use of some applications has been improved.

The update weighs in at approximately 336 megabytes and Sony notes "depending on the software title, you may not be able to play without first updated the PS4 system software."

Upon updating our system there was no visual changes to the console's UI or any other noticeable updates. Just your usual under-the-hood tweaks.
