Custom system themes will come to PS4 along with a raft of other features in system update 2.0, PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman confirmed in a recent PlayStation BlogCast.
“There was the system software update 2.0, which is going to bring a lot of cool new stuff,” Shuman said. “Themes, PS4 getting YouTube support, not only an app, but you’ll be able to broadcast onto YouTube, and the big one is Share Play.”
Sony revealed system update 2.0 and Share Play during its gamescom 2014 conference, describing the latter as a means to create a local co-op experience online by inviting a friend to join your game, even if they don’t own a copy. Share Play will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus members and has since been confirmed to be limited to one hour.
