PS4 to remain in short supply until summer

Sony has acknowledged it is "struggling" to keep up with the demand for the PlayStation 4, conservatively estimating that the system could be in short supply until at least the summer months. When the PS4 launch in November 2013, it sold out on the first day. Since then it's been hard to come by, selling out at retailers almost the second its restocked.

"We’re struggling to keep up with demand," Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House told the Wall Street Journal. "Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we'll be closer to a full supply situation."

At the beginning of this year, Sony urged gamers looking for a PS4 to "be patient" as the company works to fill supply. So far, over 6 million PS4 systems have been sold since launch, Sony revealed earlier this month.
