Earlier today, Sony confirmed the existence of a PlayStation 4/Vita bundle; however, they wouldn't reveal what markets it would be sold in. Insead, a Sony spokesperson simply said it would be announced "on a regional basis." Well, if an Best Buy ad posted by Twitter user Wario64 is legit, then the United States could be one of those regions.
As you can see from the attached image of the circular, the advertised bundle includes the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and a copy of Borderlands 2 for Vita — all for $559.98. That's a savings of $40 then if you were to buy each system individually, but tacking on the extra game also saves you an additional $60, meaning this bundle offers you a grand total savings of $100.
Sony has still yet to formally announce a PS4/Vita bundle, but this is the second retailer we've seen selling one; albeit, the first in the U.S. Earlier this week, Amazon France listed a PS4/Vita "Ultimate Player Edition" bundle that included just the Vita and PS4 with no game.
At this point, it's unclear if all retailers will be selling this same bundle, or if some will include a different game, or no game at all. I'm assuming that Best Buy is simply throwing in an extra game and that the actual "official" bundle will include just the PS4 and Vita for $559 which, as I mentioned, would be a $40 savings then buying each system on its own.
With Sony's E3 press briefing being held on Monday, June 9, I'd expect a more formal unveiling then.
