PSA: World of Warcraft patch 6.0.2 resetting legacy character names

We know patch 6.0.2 is coming and we know that it's bringing the wrath of the Iron Horde (no, not the Wrath of the Lich King).

Did you know what else it's bringing? A giant eraser, an eraser that's coming for the names of abandoned characters.

I say abandoned because the eraser is targeting the characters that haven't seen the light of Azeroth since November 13, 2008. That's the Burning Crusade era of World of Warcraft.

There is a way to save your character's name. It's easy, log onto WoW…Then proceed to log on to every character whose name you want to save before patch 6.0.2 launches. If you fail to do so, your characters name will be lost – it will be roaming around as a ghost looking for a Spirit Healer. Unfortunately, there isn't one – unless you count the kid who is going to take your character's name from you a Spirit Healer.

Patch 6.0.2 is landing tomorrow, October 14th.
