It's is sad day in the PlayStation world. All PlayStation Network accounts will be gone (well, sort of) starting February 8 instead turning to a new account system called the Sony Entertainment Network.
It turns out there is no need to worry. Actually, the system change will only be for namesake. Your PlayStation Network usernames and passwords won't change at all. It seems the change to the Sony Entertainment Network is to create a broader network to integrate one account through numerous media outlets such as games, movie and music.
From an email to PSN users, Sony said this, "This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account." The change to SEN will happen in the next update for the PS3 and Sony PlayStation Vita on February 8. [Digital Spy]
