After a brief delay, Sony's planned maintenance for the PlayStation Network is currently underway. The work was originally supposed to begin at 11:30am Eastern Time, but was delayed by an hour. As a result, it is now scheduled to end at 6:00pm Eastern Time. It should be noted that the 5.5 hour maintenance window is just an approximate and as most PlayStation fans are probably aware, it could (and probably will) be extended. Of course, we'll keep you updated.
While undergoing maintenance, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account management portions of PSN will not be available. If you signed in to the network any time since March 6th you "may" still be able to play games online and access partner apps like Netflix, though users are reportedly experiencing issues. On PS4, you will not be able to view the What's New, Live, and Library areas of hte console. Share functionality is also affected.
"We thank you for your patience and support and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," Sony said. Keep it tuned to GameZone for all your PSN updates.
