PSN down: Sony acknowledges, investigates issues

As some of you may be aware, PlayStation Network is currently experiencing issues affecting multiple services related to "gaming and social," "account management," and the accessing the PlayStation Store.

Sony hasn't really provided a new statement since they last claimed the issues were "due to factors external to PSN," but they have at least acknowledged that they are investigating the issues.

As of the time of this writing the following PSN services are being affected, though this may not apply to all PlayStation Network members:

Account Management:

Affected Platforms: PlayStation 4

Affected Services: You may be experiencing issues related to signing in or creating an account on PlayStation®Network. We appreciate your patience while we address this. Including: Sign In, Create Account

Gaming and Social

Affected Platforms: PlayStation 4

Affected Services: You may be experiencing issues related to launching games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list. We appreciate your patience while we address this.

PlayStation Store

Affected Platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4

Affected Services: You may be experiencing issues related to features on PlayStation®Store. We appreciate your patience while we address this. Including: Purchase, Download, Browse, Search, Redeem Voucher

Tonight's problems come just days ahead of planned maintenance which is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 29th.
