It appears today's planned maintenance for PlayStation Network is affecting some users' ability to play games online. Despite Sony assuring PlayStation owners that they'd be able to play their games online during the maintenance (as long as they've signed in before Jan. 20), we've received multiple reports of users unable to login and play their games online. The PlayStation forums are also littered with similar complaints.
While I can't say for certain, I'd imagine most of the errors people are encountering have to do with this maintenance and for that reason, I urge everyone to remain calm. Sony says maintenance should conclude around 3:30pm Pacific Time (6:30pm Eastern Time). If the problems persist beyond that, then you can worry. Until then, maybe read a book? I hear Divergent is a great read.
