Prepare your bodies, the some PlayStation Network services will be going down for a relatively short maintenance session next week. Sony claims the PSN maintenance will only last "approximately" two hours on Monday, August 17th from 9:30 PM PT to 11:00 PM PT, which is an hour and a half by my count (August, 18 at 12:30 AM ET to 2:00 AM ET).
If your aren't in North America, your service will be held Tuesday 18th, August 04:30 am BST to Tuesday 18th August 06:00 am BST or if you're in Australia, Tuesday 18th August 01:30 pm AEST to Tuesday 18th August 03:00 pm AEST.
So, what services will be affected by the maintenance? Not much, users will still be able to log into their accounts, play games and use most applications during the maintenance. However, Account Management, PS Video, and purchases in the PS Store will not be available during the maintenance. Sony suggests you activate your PS4 console as your primary console before maintenance begins.
Also, we should note – whatever time they say for maintenance may or may not be trusted, it could always be longer.
