Looks like we'll get our first glimpse of that PlayStation Network service status page on Monday, as Sony announced today that PSN will undergo "planned maintenance on March 23, 2015.
The maintenance is scheduled from 9:00am to 11:30am Pacific Time (12:30pm to 2:30pm Eastern Time). Of course, this is the expected downtime; we all know how Sony is when it comes to maintenance. During this time, Sony will "deploy a series of back-end improvements to the network."
If you absolutely can't wait two-and-a-half hours, there are ways for you to ensure that you'll be able to log in during this maintenance, but it depends on your platform.
For PS4, if you've signed in to the network prior to maintenance, you'll be fine. Most games will be playable online and access to apps such as Netflix should be available.
For PS3 and Vita, as long as you've signed into the network prior to maintenance you'll be able to access most games online.
The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management will not be available regardless of your platform.
