Psyonix already working on next ‘cool’ Rocket League DLC for after Supersonic Fury

Yesterday, we published our full interview with Psyonix about the wildly popular Rocket League and its future (like the game coming to Xbox). Of course, part of that future is downloadable content. While Psyonix's VP of Marketing, Jeremy Dunham, couldn't give us specifics, he did reveal that the developer is already working on the next DLC pack (the one after the already-announced Supersonic Fury).

"We’re finishing the one we just announced, and we’re working on the very next one which we think people are really going to like a lot," Dunham said.

Like Supersonic Fury, the next DLC will come with another free map for everyone. "That's our plan," he said. "Whenever we release a new map we want to release a new DLC pack with it."

"We want to satisfy both audiences," he continued, referring to those who don't mind paying for DLC and those who just want to enjoy the game for free.

While we unfortunately didn't get any details, Dunham did tease that the next DLC is "going to be cool."

"We know that people are going to like it," he said. "We say that confidently because it just has cool stuff in it. It doesn’t even matter what it is. It’s just the fact that the stuff we’re working on looks cool, and we think people like stuff that looks cool. We think the fact that it’s going to have some cool-looking stuff in it, people will really like it.”

One heavily-requested fan feature that we can probably rule out is the addition of air horns, although Dunham said Psyonix is aware of the demand for it.

"A ton of people have either tweeted us or sent us mail or messages on Facebook.  I’m trying to think if there’s been other feature that they’ve brought up more than that," he said of the demand for personal air horns. "That may be the one customization item that’s been brought up more than any other, outside of just adding more to a customization category that we already have. That is definitely the most requested feature.”

While it doesn't sound as if personal air horns will make it into the next DLC pack, it definitely sounds like it has the potential to make it into the game in the future. “I can confirm that we are aware there’s a demand for it, and that we’re definitely talking about maybe doing it," he said, adding, "We'll do whatever the community wants."

Rocket League's Supersonic Fury DLC is scheduled to release in "early August." One of the things Dunham said was cool about the next DLC is that it has been "influenced" by what's currently going on in the game. The game being available in the hands of the public has allowed Psyonix to look at feedback and what players are actually interested in, so hopefully some of your wishes will come true.
