PUBG’s new Snow-themed Vikendi map is now live for all players

PC players of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds can now choose to battle it out in the game’s newest map addition with Vikendi. The snow-covered new location passed the test servers and is now available for free to all PUBG owners and launches together with its accompanying Survivor Pass.

Fitting for the current season, PUBG is now offering a winterscape for its still large playerbase. For now, Vikandi is launching on the PC first with releases for PS4 and Xbox One planned for January.

Vikandi is a medium-sized addition to the battlegrounds of PUBG and should make map adaptation and memorization easier with its 6x6km large area. Although not the largest of maps, Vikendi is home to a wide variety of distinct and unique locations. There are the usual villages and businesses but no doubt the highlights of the new map are the Dino Park and the Cosmodrome.

The Comsodrome

Yep, there is a dinosaur-themed amusement park, complete with a rollercoaster, souvenir shops and more! As the name already gives away, the Cosmodrome is a giant spacecraft launch site with a massively towering rocket.

Of course, there’s a lot more to Vikendi and to more comfortably traverse and explore the area, the developers have added Snowmobiles, too. This way, players can ride through the snow in style. Unique to Vikendi, a new weapon has also been introduced. The German-made G36C. This replaces the SCAR on Vikendi.

Together with the new free map, PUBG also is getting a new paid Survival Pass which includes dozens upon dozens of new skins, emotes and other cosmetic items. These can be unlocked by completing the over 300 missions and leveling up. The Survival Pass: Vikendi lasts for 10 weeks and has Daily, Weekly, Beginner, Challenge and Premium Missions.

Every player receives access to the basic survival pass that lets them unlock a few cosmetics and partake in some missions, but to take full advantage of the new pass, players need to purchase the Survival Pass: Vikendi for $9.99.

Check out the Pass page to learn more about what’s included in the pass.
