Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick today said that the publisher is entirely open to the idea of expanding its software network and purchasing more developers.
“We have the opportunity to support organic growth with our balance sheet,” Zelnick told GamesIndustry. “We also have the ability to do inorganic growth. And we have the opportunity to return money to our shareholders.”
“If there’s an opportunity to grow inorganically with a company that’s consistent with our disciplined approach, then we would absolutely do so,” he added. “There’s no question this company is in growth mode.”
Oh, and if you’re wondering about BioShock, now that series creator Ken Levine has cut Irrational Games into a much smaller team: Zelnick describes the franchise as “beloved,” and promises “more to come in the future.” So at least it’s not too deep on the backburner, right?
