Punishingly good platformer Cuphead out now on PlayStation 4

After three years since its original launch on PC and Xbox One, the outstanding and gorgeous platformer Cuphead shadow-dropped on the PlayStation 4 today. Check out the launch trailer below!

One of the best reasons to own an Xbox One for the longest time was Cuphead. The deceptively charming yet brutally difficult platformer set the gaming world ablaze with an eye-catching art style reminiscing of retro cartoons. But it was the excellent gameplay that really made it a modern classic.

In Cuphead, take on massive, screen-filling bosses in a run & gun platformer inspired by classic cartoons of the 1930s, featuring traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings. Studio MDHR, the developer behind the game, has today announced that Cuphead is finally available on the PlayStation 4. You can get the game on the PlayStation Store for just $19.99.

Even though there is a lack of fanfare for the arrival of the game on Sony’s console, it’s an absolute must-play for every gamer who yearns for a good challenge. And with an animated TV show in the works currently and due out for release on Netflix, it’s a great opportunity to experience this masterpiece beforehand.
