Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 returns with addictive multiplayer puzzling in 2021

Sega has unveiled that the brilliant puzzler package Puyo Puyo Tetris is inbound for pretty much every gaming system in early 2021. Watch the announcement trailer here!

The timeless puzzler genre is soon getting a new must-play addition. The brilliant mixture of the cult Japanese Puyo Puyo series with the puzzler giant Tetris is entering its second round next year.

Japan’s beloved puzzle game series Puyo Puyo and the world-renowned Tetris® game franchise have teamed up again to deliver even more Puyo-popping and Tetrimino-clearing fun in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. Playing is easy: match 4 or more same-colored Puyos or complete a line of blocks to clear them from your board and dump Garbage into your opponent’s game. But keep an eye on what’s coming your way too.

Play traditional Puyo Puyo and Tetris…or mix them together to level up your game. Offline or online, you’ll have loads of modes that let you play the way you want from single-player Adventure to couch-competition Versus to ranked Online matches, and more.

Players can look forward to challenging their gray cells in solo modes or go against friends in online and local multiplayer. Best of all, which type of game you play is entirely up to you. Want to only play the evergreen Tetris? You can do that. Or do you want to try something new with Puyo Puyo? The choice is yours.

But without a doubt, the highlight mode is playing both at once in a mixed puzzle frenzy together with other people of up to 4 players.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is slated to come out early next year for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
