Puzzle & Dragons is the top-grossing game on mobile

Puzzle & Dragons is thriving on mobile platforms. Today mobile analytics site App Annie revealed that the match-three game is generating more revenue on iOS and Android than any other title.

And it's future looks even brighter.

GungHo Online Entertainment's top-grossing title has seen huge success in Japan, where it launched last year before making the trek westward. It's surpassed popular games like fellow match-three game Candy Crush Saga and runner Temple Run 2 — just not in number of downloads. There, they're still topping the charts, with Candy Crush at No. 1 and Temple Run 2 at No. 4.

King's Candy Crush Saga is in the top five in both revenue and downloads in the App Store and Google Play markets. Imangi's Temple Run 2 performs better with the most monthly downloads, where Candy Crush has taken the No. 3 spot.

"[Candy Crush] made its top three debut on Google Play in March, after having reached No. 8 in February and No. 10 in January," according to App Annie's blog post.

Candy Crush is also third in monthly revenue, right under Clash of Clans. Puzzle & Dragons, of course, ranks first.

"The top five grossing iOS games have now remained the same for each month of Q1 2013, which is remarkable given how quickly many games tend to rise and fall in popularity," wrote App Annie.

I highly recommend giving all three of these titles a try if you haven't already.
