Quentin Tarantino to tackle Charles Manson for his ninth movie

The legendary director of Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Reservoir Dogs, and many others will reportedly be helming a movie surrounding the infamous killer and cult-like leader, Charles Manson. Quentin Tarantino has reportedly written a script and is already talking to actors like Jennifer Lawerence and Brad Pitt who has already worked with Tarantino before.

There's no title as of yet and plot details are scarce but we do know the film will potentially follow the brutal murder of Shannon Tate, the wife of director Roman Polanski. In 1969, Manson and a group of his followers attacked a home occupied by Tate and several others believing it belonged to a record producer who rejected him. Tate was eight months pregnant and was brutally murdered along with four others by the maniacs who raided the home with guns and knives.

In 1971, Manson and some of his followers were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Tate and several others committed in the summer of 1969. The Hollywood Reporter states that an insider reported that Lawerence is not considering the part of Tate so she may be considering a role in Manson's crew or she may turn down the movie altogether.

This will be Tarantino's first project that is based on true events. It's unclear if Tarantino will tackle this with some grace given how real the story is or if he'll keep his bloody, violent spin in the movie. However it may be, this will be his second to last movie as he has sad he wants to make 10 movies and then retire.
