On February 22, it's going to be exactly one year since the Nintendo DS RPG from Atlus, Radiant Historia, landed here in North America. Not even one year passed since the game's launch when it was officially announced out of print. The game received good reviews and sold pretty well. That's why it's so strange that Atlus decided to stop manufacturing the RPG.
Naturally, the game's price has gone up, but it's insane just how expensive it costs now. Radiant Historia is currently priced at $150 on Amazon. That's almost five times it's original price! There's even some guy on the site trying to sell the darn thing for 500 bucks! Unfortunately, the game's out of print status pretty much justifies the high asking prices all over the internet.
On its Facebook page, Atlus asked if gamers would want to pay money for Radiant Historia if a reprint happened. Hell yes, we would, Atlus! Make it happen! Please! I really want this game, and I'm sorry I didn't get it sooner. I feel crappy now, people.
To think, I actually saw Radiant Historia at a GameStop at the mall back in September 2011. I didn't have much cash at the time, so I had to pass on making a purchase. If I would have known this was going to happen, I would have borrowed money from my older sister, best friend, or anyone willing to let me mooch off of them.
