Rage 2 ‘Wasteland Superhero’ trailer shows off bombastic action

A sparkling new gameplay trailer for Rage 2 is out. Bethesda’s newest attempt at combining the glorious shooting of DOOM and excellent open-world adventure of Mad Max. Dubbed Wasteland Superhero, we get to see some truly inhumane action on display. Check it out!

Rage 2 is still two months away but that doesn’t mean we don’t get to witness the awesome over-top shooter in action. Bethesda has been hard at work in convincing gamers that this sequel is a whole lot more than just more Rage. Indeed, it marks a rather drastic shift from its predecessor. Gone is the dreary world devoid of color and almost horror-like atmosphere. Instead, Rage 2 basks in all colors of the rainbow and seriousness makes way for ludicrous display of mayhem.

But it’s not just the visuals that got a heavy makeover. Bethesda recruited the fine folks at Avalanche Studios and id Software to co-develop the game. A smart move from what we were able to see so far, as id’s talent for visceral shooting shines the same way through as does Avalanche’s expertise in brutal vehicular combat and open-world.  While previous trailers highlighted the diverse world, this time it’s all about first-person shooting, and the many ways players can chain and combine different weapons, grenades, gadgets and special skills.

You’re not just Walker, the last Ranger. You’re a Wasteland Superhero! Using your arsenal of powerful weapons and hi-tech nanotrite abilities, you’re going to wreak havoc on the baddies lurking throughout RAGE 2. While they are super powerful on their own, you’ll get maximum damage by pairing those weapons and abilities for crazy combos that will knock the socks off* (*absolutely obliterate) anyone that stands in your way. The Authority doesn’t stand a chance!

Rage 2 is coming out May 14 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
