Ragnarok Odyssey enhanced version due for PS3 and Vita in early April

If you didn't get to play Ragnarok Odyssey back when it launched for PlayStation Vita two years ago, now's your chance. The role-playing game is returning as an enhanced edition for both PlayStation 3 and Vita.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace will release on April 1, publisher Xseed Games announced today. Both versions will be available in stores and digitally for $40 though the Vita releases have a few perks: Digitally, it only costs $35, and all physical copies at launch will include a bonus soundtrack CD.

Ace supports cross-platform play between the two versions. It introduces a randomized, 400-floor dungeon called the Tower of Yggdrasil. Players can also take advantage of new "Ace Skills," an unlockable arsenal of moves for multiplayer, and recruit two elite A.I. mercenaries to fight alongside them.

Xseed detailed a few other improvements today on the PlayStation Blog: The game's former ending has become its midpoint, and players now have more character customization options at the start. Other features make their debut as well, and Xseed said that content updates are coming stateside soon, including daily quests and a new boss rush mode.

Those who own the original Ragnarok Odyssey can transfer over their character's physical attributes (except for clothing) and most monster and weapon cards. They can also port over purchased downloadable content by redownloading it from the PlayStation Store.
