Microsoft has secured another huge game for its gaming subscription service. Ubisoft’s massively popular team-based shooter Rainbow Six Siege will be available on the service starting this Thursday, October 22nd.
The official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account teased the arrival of the multiplayer shooter during the weekend with a not-so-cryptic image. As you can see, the image immediately hints at Rainbow Six Siege with the medieval siege and a sixfold rainbow.
Today, the company made it official in a post on the Xbox Wire. Furthermore, the wait is super short. In just three days’ time, Xbox Game Pass users will be able to play Rainbow Six Siege at no additional cost.
There’s even more good news for users who subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. These users will be able to play Siege on their Android device wherever they are thanks to cloud gaming support.
Microsoft is really ramping up their efforts towards the start of next-gen. The company elevated the value of the Xbox Game Pass with the free addition of cloud gaming just last month.
On top of that, the entire ZeniMax Media is now part of Xbox. That includes Bethesda and all its studios and IPs. We’re talking about heavy-hitters like The Elder Scrolls, Doom, and many more here.
After weeks of speculation, Xbox Head Phil Spencer pretty much put a nail on the coffin of PlayStation gamers’ hopes of still getting those games on Sony consoles. Meaning, all those major IPs will likely not come to the PS5 in the future.
As if those all weren’t proof enough that Xbox under Phil Spencer means business, we are now witnessing the possible ushering of a new partnership with Ubisoft. It’s unlikely that Rainbow Six Siege is a one-off deal. Sony really has their work cut out for them.
