Rainbow Six Siege welcomes its new Aussie Operators & Free Weekend

As previously reported, Rainbow Six Siege is getting a ton of Australia-themed new content in their newest Operation Burnt Horizons. This time, we get to learn more about the two new Operators, Gridlock & Mozzie. Check out their trailer!

After first unveiling Outback, the new map for Siege which is set in a dusty service station in Australia, today Ubisoft is introducing player to the second big pillar of Operation Burnt Horizon. Namely, two brand-new Operators, the unique hero classes of Siege, so to speak.

Gridlock and Mozzie are mates from way back. From the first time they met at a robot destruct-o-rama in their teens to a few years later when Mozzie convinced Grid to join the Defence Force, they stayed in constant but distant contact. It wasn’t until they were called in to help fight one of the century’s largest bushfires that they really clicked. They’ve been deployed together ever since.

As members of the Special Air Service Regiment of the Australian Special Forces, Gridlock and Mozzie mean serious business. First up, we have the bulky Gridlock. A female warrior who’ll enter the Rainbow Six Siege roster as an Attacker. Her special attack are Trax Stingers which will be very useful for territory control and to halt hostile movement quickly and painfully. Mozzie on the other hand is a Defender who’ll quickly become a pest on the battlefield. Quite literally, as his unique weapon is called Pest and aims to deter advancing hostile players.

These two new Operators are part of Operation Burnt Horizon and which is going to be fully revealed this Sunday, February 17, during the Sixth Invitational in Montreál. But before the new operation gets into full-swing, Ubisoft has also shared their pre-season adjustments to the existing Operators. Check the extensive changelog on the blog post here.

If all that sounds nice but you don’t yet own Rainbow Six Siege, be aware that a Free Weekend has started today across all platforms, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. So, jump in and try it out for free!
