Raptr sports a sleek new look and additional features

If, like me, you enjoy tracking your gameplay time, achievements, ranks and comparing friends' accomplishments to yours, then chances are you're already familiar with Raptr, the leading site that brings all of this info together into one cohesive place.

The Raptr app needed to be installed on your computer in order to track your console gaming in real time, but other than that, it never really served much purpose. That all changes today.

“We are completely obsessed with serving players a richer game and community
experience,” said Dennis Fong, CEO, Raptr. “Through our new Raptr Desktop App, we
are delivering a seamless in-game experience to players with the power to play games
and simultaneously tap into their favorite web services and destinations, community
discussions and content. Gamers can say goodbye to alt tabbing.”

The newly updated Raptr app has a sleek new look, which docks on the side of your screen, and is now host to a bunch of new features that will keep you in the game, without the need to alt-tab. With a simple press of Shift+tab, the Raptr app will pop up over your game, allowing to take screenshots, browse the web, send an email, watch YouTube videos, cross platform IM chat and more, all without ever minimizing your game! The team is also working on many enhancements to the new app, including video capture, which I'm sure will make a lot of PC gamers very happy.

The full list of features found in the new Raptr app include:

Interact and Share with the Community
• Screenshot capture tool with built-in sharing to Raptr, Facebook and Twitter
• Direct access to social networks including Facebook and Twitter
• Game-specific community discussions
• Cross-platform IM chat
• Tracking friends’ PC gaming with ability to jump directly into their games

Access Complementary Content and Tools
• News direct from top gaming sites
• Access to videos through YouTube
• Email through Gmail
• World of Warcraft Talent Calculator
• Weather application
• Web browsing

Rev up your Reputation, Ranks and Rewards
• Post-game summaries
• Gameplay, rank and achievement tracking
• Raptr Reward loyalty program notifications

Make sure to head on over to the Raptr Download page to test it out now.
