Sea of Thieves' Technical Alpha continues to roll on, and it looks like Rare is ready to expand their player base. In a tweet from the official Sea of Thieves account, the developers revealed that they have sent out 30,000 invites to new players who will be eligible to join the next play session that's scheduled to go down on Saturday.
Here's the tweet:
Insiders! We're shipping out 30,000 new #SeaOfThieves Technical Alpha invitations today. Check your inboxes over the next few hours. pic.twitter.com/j9PNwh2ADl

Rare also recently announced changes to how the Technical Alphas will be conducted. Play sessions are now being entirely moved over to Saturdays and are now 24 hours long. Sessions will begin at 3 PM BST (that's 10 AM EST) and run until the same time on Sunday. This will give the game's gradually growing player base a lot more flexibility when it comes to finding time to play the game, as for the longest time, primary play sessions were set for Wednesdays.
In order to qualify for the Technical Alpha test, you have to register for the Sea of Thieves Insider Program, so while it's probably too late for non-Insiders at this point, get in now, so you have a shot for the next round of invites.
Sea of Thieves doesn't currently have a release date, but it is expected to come out sometime next year.
