Razer reveals its first mobile gaming phone

Razer's highly anticipated mobile phone has finally been unveiled, with some potentially useful design tweaks for people gaming on the go.

The design is very simple and falls in line nicely with much of the gaming giant's product line. Made with a sturdy metal, it has a matte black finish around the front and back of the phone – as well as, of course, the brand's logo.

One interesting design feature, however, is the fact that this phone doesn't follow the recent trend, set by Apple and Samsung, of edge-to-edge displays. This provides a space on the phone for you to rest your thumbs while playing a game and incorporating two large front-facing speakers.

There are a pair of 12-megapixel cameras on the back, an 8-megapixel camera front-facing camera on the other side, a fingerprint reader on the right side of the phone and volume buttons are situated on the left.

Razer look to be setting the new smartphone benchmark, when it comes to display, with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate on their first phone. It has 8gb of RAM, 64gb of internal storage (with expandable storage space) and a 4000mA battery.

The stock software launcher for this phone is Nova Launcher Prime and is currently launching with Android 7.1, although an update to Android Oreo is expected for the first quarter of 2018.

Razer's first phone is expected to hit the shelves on November 17th and is available for pre-order with a price point of $699.
