Rebirth Island map for Call of Duty Warzone confirmed in new trailer

It’s hardly surprising that Activision plans to expand on their battle royale juggernaut. Still, finally having confirmation about a new and exciting map is a real joy. Titled Rebirth Island, the new map comes as part of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War colliding. Enjoy the trailer for yourself here!

Don’t be confused. It is indeed called season one. That’s because Warzone’s partnership with the Modern Warfare reboot is coming to an end. Now, the most recent Black Ops Cold War carries the torch.

The developers are kicking off the collaboration in grand style with the introduction of a new map. As its name already gives away, Rebirth Island is an island map. We don’t have the detailed birds-eye view of Rebirth Island just yet. So, all we have to go by at the moment is a photograph from the cinematic trailer above.

That doesn’t mean we know nothing though. For one, we learn about the new operative and main antagonist Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin. An ex-KGB leader of a chemical weapons program. Nova 6. His counterpart is Russel Adler. One of the key characters of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s story.

It’s not just a new map that’s inbound. Warzone’s unique Gulag experience is also seeing a rework for Season One. Activision is still silent about what these changes are going to be but get ready to adapt.

Together with Rebirth Island and a new Gulag, Warzone also receives over 30 weapons from Black Ops Cold War. It certainly looks like Cold War’s launch is just the beginning of a new phase for Warzone’s addictive battle royale mayhem.

The launch of Season One was originally this Thursday, but Activision decided to delay it by six days. Now, the start of Season One for Black Ops Cold War x Warzone is December 16th.
