Red Dead Online players have noticed zombie-like NPCs appearing

Since the success of Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare DLC, fans have yearned for more content like that from Rockstar Games. While GTA V never got the Undead Nightmare treatment (but it may have been in development at some point), fans have been hoping for something in Red Dead Redemption 2 or Red Dead Online.

Eagle-eyed players have begun noticing weird discolored NPCs with green eyes that resemble something similar to a zombie in Red Dead Online. Reddit user groats_active claimed they found the NPC in the swamp area of the map. Many have noted that these NPCs are just corpses and could be affected by some sort of glitch (something Red Dead Online has plenty of) but the timing has raised many eyebrows.

With Halloween nearing, many are optimistic that this means something big is coming to Red Dead Online. While fans would likely hope for something single-player related, the money that is drawn from the microtransactions in their online modes likely make it more lucrative to go with an online update.

It should also be noted that Red Dead Online received a substantial update last week and Rockstar takes many months to pump out new content. It’s hard to say what this could mean, if it means anything, but with October just a couple weeks away, it won’t be long before we know for sure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on Xbox One and PS4. A PC release is expected sooner rather than later given Rockstar’s new PC launcher releasing earlier this week.
