Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to PC and Google Stadia in November

After an agonizing 12 months of waiting, hoping and many leaks, Rockstar’s magnum opus Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally officially announced for PC. As if this news wasn’t great enough, you won’t have to wait for too long until you can play one of the best games of all time at even higher visual fidelity and framerates on your PC with a release date of November 5.

Last year, gamers on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were ecstatic to play arguably the best Wild West game of all time. Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on consoles and surpassed all expectations with brilliant writing, insane attention to detail and a world filled to the brim with activities and characters rarely seen at this level of quality in games. Read our review of it here to get a better grasp of what is in store next month.

PC gamers were hoping to get Red Dead Redemption 2 day-and-date as the consoles but in the end, they had to muster up patience once again to get a Rockstar game. But all that waiting will soon be over and with the large PC community, there’s little doubt RDR2 will make a big splash on the platform. We can’t even imagine what the modding scene will do with the game once they get their hands on it.

Obviously, many gamers didn’t wait a whole year and played the game on console already. Rockstar has thought of that and added lots of new content for you to double-dip. Alongside the expected aforementioned technical improvements, RDR2 on PC will also receive new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons and more.

Pre-orders on the newly launched Rockstar Games Launcher start on October 9 and those who pre-order RDR2 for PC by October 22nd can choose two free games among the following:

  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Bully: Scholarship Edition
  • L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition
  • Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition

Furthermore, every pre-order on Rockstar’s store will secure them following in-game content:

  • Outlaw Survival Kit for Story Mode
  • War Horse for Story Mode
  • Treasure Map for Story Mode
  • Cash Bonus for Story Mode
  • 50 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online

In a major surprise, Red Dead Redemption 2 will not be exclusive to the Rockstar Games Launcher and instead come to Steam and Epic Games Store, as well. But while EGS has secured a 1-month exclusivity deal, the game will launch on Steam a month later in December. Still, a very welcome decision who gives gamers the choice. Pre-orders for those stores will start on October 23rd.

Those who are looking to join Google’s gaming streaming service, Google Stadia, will also be happy to hear that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a launch title. Stadia is set to release in November.
