Red Dead Redemption 2 is allegedly 105 GBs on PS4

Mother of God...

We are officially 30 days away from Red Dead Redemption 2, an eight-year-long wait is coming to its end. Rockstar has been very kind to all of us by feeding us with plenty of new details via preview coverage from outlets, new blog posts detailing hunting, fishing, horses, wildlife, and more.

It’s safe to say that if you’ve been excited for this game at any point throughout its hype cycle, it is at its peak right now. We’re all going to dig in on launch day and immerse ourselves in Rockstar’s open-world western BUT… you may want to download the game early via digital pre-loads or go with a disc if you really want to play on October 26th.

A new listing on Target’s website for a PS4 Pro bundle that includes Red Dead Redemption 2 gives a few new details about the game. Most notably, the game requires a minimum of a whopping 105 GBs to install, making it easily the biggest game size at launch. To compare, Grand Theft Auto V was a little over half of that at 62.44 GBs. It sounds like Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to truly pack a punch and be one of the biggest games, literally and figuratively, to date.

The bundle also noted that Red Dead Online will contain up to 32 players in online lobbies, similar to Grand Theft Auto V on current gen consoles. If you’re someone who really loved all of the content that Rockstar regularly released for GTA Online, you may want to get Red Dead on PS4 because it appears all content will come to the console 30 days early. Similar to the Call of Duty DLC deal, all content will come to PlayStation 4 30 days prior to Xbox One due to a deal struck by Rockstar and Sony.

It certainly looks like Rockstar has big plans for their first new game in five years and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves. We’ve reached out to Rockstar Games for comment regarding the file size to see if they can confirm it themselves, we’ll update this article if we hear anything.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for Xbox One and PS4 on October 26th, 2018.
