Red Dead Redemption 2 was awarded a ton of accolades for a variety of things including its Oscar-quality story, ambitious open-world, great characters, and of course, the incredible score composed by Woody Jackson.
The score is compiled by 80 hours of original music that captures various moods and tones throughout Rockstar’s atmospheric western. Similarly, taking cues from the iconic “Far Away” moment from the first game, Rockstar brought in a number of artists to record original songs for Red Dead Redemption 2 that play during key story beats.
While arguably the biggest song, Unshaken by D’Angelo, has released as a single on various music services, fans have been clamoring for the complete package since October. Finally, Rockstar will release both the original score and the original soundtrack featuring D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, and more this spring.
Rockstar and Red Bull teamed up this past weekend in LA for a huge concert led by Woody Jackson, Indonesian duo Senyawa, and more. You can read an extensive deep dive into Jackson’s process when creating the music for the game.
