343 Industries is sticking to their original promise, and plans to release the Relic remake and the Halo 3: ODST campaign for Halo: The Master Chief Collection in this month's content update.
You may recall earlier this year, 343 Industries promised those who purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection a bunch of free content as part of an apology for the game's ongoing multiplayer and matchmaking issues. The content included a reimagined map of "Relic" and the full campaign of Halo 3: ODST, fully remastered and running at 1080p/60fps.
While we still don't have an exact release date for the free content, we at least have confirmation that it will arrive this month.
Additional details regarding the availability of the content will be shared closer to the update's release, but 343 did at least announced today that Relic will officially be re-mastered as "Remnant" in Halo 2: Anniversary.
In addition to the announcement, 343 Industries also pushed live a playlist update, making Team Objective the featured playlist. It contains "some of the greatest objective hits from Halo: CE, H2, H2A, H3, and H4." You can read more about the playlist update over on the Halo blog.
