In the mid-90s, everyone knew that one kid who had the transparent purple Nintendo 64 and admit it, everyone was jealous of them. See-through with all the circuit boards exposed in a purple hew? Who didn't want one?
Imgur user DanielBoone1294 apparently did, and still does today. They shared images of a DIY project they undertook that aimed to replicate the famous N64 in the form of a Nintendo Switch. That's right, it's an Atomic Purple Nintendo Switch.
In the comments of their post, DanielBoone1294 explained the process of taking transparent Joy Con cases and dying them purple in a lab that makes glasses.
"I cannot sell these due to the fact that the original clear shells have occasional small defects that have to be sanded/dremelled, etc. If I could get clear shells in bulk that were a perfect fit every time, I would gladly tint and sell them!"
Obviously, this isn't something anyone can do without proper access to such facilities, but check out his gallery and story here!
Now, how about the even more rare Jungle Green N64?
