Destiny's Sparrow Racing League is drawing to a close, with the limited time event scheduled to end tomorrow, December 29th. But while we say goodbye to one game mode in Destiny, we say hello to another.
Iron Banner will return tomorrow, December 29th, for the third time since the release of The Taken King expansion; although, it's only the first time since the release of Destiny's massive December update. If you recall, this massive update contained some pretty big weapon tweaks and class balancing changes (especially for Titans).
For those of you new to Destiny, Iron Banner is a special week-long Crucible (PvP) event. Unliked normal Crucible matches, level advantages are enabled, meaning weapons with higher attack ratings do more damage, while armor with higher defense ratings resist more damage. In other words, you'll want to equip your best gear because power actually matters and Guardians with higher light level actually have an advantage over those with lower light level.
So why compete in the Iron Banner? For the loot, of course. As always, Lord Saladin will return to the Tower with exclusive shaders, emblems, and high-end weapons and armor, some of which were shown off earlier this month.
As a reminder, Iron Banner will be returning to Control after a brief test with Clash last month.
