Resident Evil 7: Biohazard to Run at 1080p and 60 FPS on Xbox One

Xbox fans rejoice, equality for Resident Evil 7

With Resident Evil 7: Biohazard coming next month, we expect big things. With the way it's been marketed with high fidelity and tense trailers, this news comes as a slight surprise, though a very welcome one.

Visually, the Xbox One version and PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be identical. Some may know that the PlayStation 4 has the ability to pump higher fidelity than the Xbox One, but this news miraculously doesn't mean the game will be "brought down" to Xbox One standards. The Xbox One will actually run the game at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

When it released, Xbox One focused more on its "Living room device" motif instead of focusing on gaming specifically, and some say that's why it lags behind in terms of fidelity. When playing a game, it may not be noticed, but the difference is apparent in many Youtube comparison videos.

According to Gamebolt, Producer Masachika Kawata confirmed "visual parity" across all platforms and "Will support HDR on Xbox One S, PS4 and PS4 Pro." The technical explanation of how the Xbox One will achieve this is surprisingly absent, but the proof should come to roost on January 24, 2017.
