Resident Evil 7’s VR mode will be exclusive to PlayStation for 12 months, new screenshots show off heart rate monitor

Prepare for heart attacks.

Resident Evil 7 is one of the most anticipated games of 2017, it's reinventing Resident Evil, it looks scary as hell, and it'll be one of the first major AAA games that has full VR capability on a console. Sadly, it looks like that VR support will only be on PS4 for at least one whole year. According to a piece of promotional material for the game, the only way to play the game in VR for at least the first year the game is out will be by playing the game on PS4 and purchasing a PSVR unit, sorry PC folks (I'm sure there's a way to mod it in though). We recently learned that the game could take as long as 30 hours to beat if you play in VR (about half that length without VR).

In addition to this news, we also got some leaked screenshots for the game showing off the beautiful environments and a watch that appears to monitor the players heartbeat. It'll be interesting if they can somehow integrate a way to capture the real life player's heart rate through the controller or maybe PlayStation camera/Kinect. You can view the screenshots below.
