Resident Evil-inspired Daymare: 1998 coming to PS4 and Xbox One this April

Italian developer Invader Studios has unveiled the release date of their survival-horror title Daymare: 1998. The game previously launched on PC and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 28th.

Fans of survival-horror in the vein of the venerable Resident Evil series have all the reasons to be happy these days. Not only has Capcom, the original creators of the genre, found its way back to its roots by making Resident Evil what it was always supposed to be with the excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake, but the same treatment is also going underway for the third game.

Fans of the iconic cinematographic brands and classical gloomy survival horror games of the ’90s will be thrilled, seeing how DAYMARE: 1998 recreates the atmosphere of the most beloved works from the end of the millennium and places a typical yet fresh story in the middle of it. The plot unfolds through the eyes of various characters, putting players in the shoes of different personalities that will guide them through their theories and doubts about the situation. Backtracking, managing ammo, collecting lore items, solving environmental puzzles and the overall difficulty will help players jump a couple decades back and get chilled to the bone in their first real daymare.

But for gamers who either just can get enough of these types of games Invader Studios has just the right medicine. Daymare: 1998 is their homage to the RE games and gamers on the PC have been able to play it for almost half a year now. Originally released in September 2019, Daymare established itself as a real hidden gem with great user reviews. So, this is anything but a cheap clone. In fact, Daymare: 1998 manages to feature some highly-impressive factors like a multi-character POV campaign and modern visuals.

Soon, console owners will also have the chance to experience this formidable survival-horror shooter. With a launch date of April 28th, Daymare: 1998 is set to come out mere weeks after the Resident Evil 3 remake. Just in time for early birds who finish RE3 and want more.
