The episodic model seems to becoming more and more popular as of recent. So much so, that Capcom’s popular Resident Evil franchise is taking on this plan for Resident Evil: Revelations 2. The episodes will have hours of gameplay and released at a weekly rate distributed digitally. These episodes boast cliff hanger endings that players will be forced to anticipate what happens next until the follow week’s action. There will be 4 episodes in total.
Not happy with that model? Are you one of those people that wait until an entire TV series is out before you watch it so you can blast through it? Don’t fret, Capcom has your back too. There is also an option to buy the complete season instead of them episodically – even a version with a physical disk. Like a TV season, you’ll have to wait until the four episodes are out.
On top of that, they are already planning on additional content after the 4 episodes. The payment plans will be as follows:
