So it seems Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a pretty badass game. Of course, you already knew that if you’ve read our in-depth review of the game. If you’re undecided about The Mercenaries 3D, be sure to read our review if you haven’t already.
Most people will agree that Capcom’s latest is visually pleasing, features plenty of gruesome sound effects, and plays incredibly well. This is one hell of a game, and a purchase that anyone with a 3DS should consider. But there’s one teeny tiny flaw in the overall package’s design.
It seems there is absolutely no way to delete save data from the 3DS cart. In other words, if you want to buy the game used, expect to see other players’ high scores and additional content already unlocked. There is no way whatsoever to clear this data, something that is sure to put off gamers who like to collect everything on their own.
This was definitely a strange decision by Capcom. After all, part of the satisfaction in any title is unlocking content and earning rewards for your dedication to the game. Let’s hope this doesn’t become a trend with the developer, as it would most definitely take away from the experience that a lot of games have to offer.
