Everyone already knows that there's going to be a new God of War game. Sure, Sony hasn't made any official announcements yet, but that doesn't matter, because it's going to happen, and we all know it's going to happen. Now there's a new scoop to blow up the hype machine even more.
South African retailer BT Games is taking pre-orders for God of War IV. Despite the lack of an actual announcement, the game is listed for an expected arrival date of February 2013. While that date is cause for plenty speculation, it's no secret that Sony is planning–and possibly working on–a new God of War game, as evidenced by recent job listings.
While it would be very easy to disregard BT Games' listing, it should be noted that this same retailer previously leaked projects that were unannounced at the time. Both the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 and the recent Jak and Daxter Collection were leaked by BT Games. In other words, there may be substance here, folks!
We'll have to wait and see if this story develops further. The most likely scenario is that BT Games will remove God of War IV from its page. With all of the evidence regarding a new God of War, I think we can all agree that it's time for Sony to just officially announce the game already. I'm guessing it will happen at E3 this year.
