Retro City Rampage dated for WiiWare, includes original prototype

Developer Brian Provinciano has announced that Retro City Rampage is finally coming to Nintendo's WiiWare service. After frequent delays, Wii owners can look forward to playing the old school-influenced crime adventure on February 28. That's next Thursday!

As a way of saying thanks to the fans' for their patience, Provinciano also stated that folks who download the WiiWare version of Retro City Rampage will be able to access the original prototype that ran on actual NES hardware. That's pretty damn sweet, and the prototype, dubbed ROM City Rampage, will also be added to the Steam iteration via an update.

If you've yet to play Retro City Rampage and you've been holding off for the WiiWare edition, you're getting a pretty rad extra. Watch out for it on the Wii shop, where it'll be priced at $9.99.
